Norfolk Wildlife Trust

Website re-design for the Norfolk Wildlife Trust, an award-winning wildlife trust organisation. In addition to a full new interface design and UX overhaul, the prime client objective was that the site could easily be maintained using the modular page customiser widget Kentico CMS.

The site framework followed an atomic format which allowed for newly designed pages to be rich with exciting and varied content. The challenge was to make the templates fluid and dynamic to work effectively on desktop and all other devices.

The Norfolk Wildlife Trust website adopts to different devices and screen resolutions. For the core interactions across the site such as the habitat and species explorer, the mobile first strategy was used to refine and decipher how content would behave without distorting the visual hierarchy.

Accordions and show / hide functionality were used to reduce mobile page scrolls and modular sliders were added to shift the paradigm of syntactic interactions without causing information overload. In addition, breakpoints become visual cues to avoid any awkward CMS edits.

The result proved very popular with the content and marketing teams who provide fresh content for the site daily.
